Team
Chizzled would like to thank all of you for visiting our site. We
are dedicated to providing quality clothing for your active lifestyle.
Owner/President
Shawn Beach (AKA The Beachman) grew up in rural Iowa in the small
town of Wever. The family farm forged Shawn's work ethic and his
"can do" attitude. Playing in team sports throughout school
instilled a competitive edge that has never faded. That edge along
with his Midwestern ethic has proven to be a volatile combination.
During
the early years, on summer breaks Shawn's cousin, Ambrose Roland,
would travel to their farm in Wever from Moline, Illinois where
they "Chizzled" many fields during the hot Iowa summers.
Work hard and play hard was the theme during those years. The summers
spent on the farm, sweating it out during the day and dreaming of
a life more comfortable at night, forged a bond of brotherhood that
lasts to this day. (Special shout out to Shawn's brother Carl &
Ambrose's brother Will. They were there too... much love).
After
high school life took them separate ways. Ambrose joined the Army
and Shawn headed south. Although, they remained in contact as family
does.
Shawn
continued competing & training in sports while carving out a
living. Taking part in several body building competitions and jumping
at the opportunity to train at the WCW Powerplant in Georgia. While
undergoing the grueling program at the WCW Powerplant "The
Beachman" brushed elbows and trained in the ring with some
of the biggest names in Professional Wrestling. Relationships built
in sweat & blood that last to this day. Afterwards, Shawn spent
several years working and living in Florida where he dreamed and
planned of having his own Logo and Brand Name strong enough to reflect
his own dedication and will to succeed.
Leaving
the Quad Cities after graduating for the Army, Ambrose lived in
Denver raising his family where he utilized his veteran's benefits
to pursue an education. He earned his Bachelor's Degree while working
around the clock to provide. The first of his family to graduate
college, Ambrose moved back to the Mid-West after several years
and started working for the Department of Defense as a contractor
in the Information Technology field. After several deployments to
the Middle East he was looking for a change.
That
is when the phone rang.
In
2008 Shawn created the Logo and formed the Chizzled Wear brand name.
After reconnecting with Ambrose at his birthday party in Wever,
Iowa Shawn decided to call and offer Ambrose the opportunity to
join him and build Chizzled Wear. The timing could not have been
better. Side by side, like the days of those long ago summers, Shawn
and Ambrose are together again working, dreaming and Chizzling out
the future.
Chizzled
Wear was kicked off at the 2010 Mr. Olympia Expo in Las Vegas, a
dream fulfilled for Shawn after years of physical training and body
building. The Mr. Olympia Expo was the launching pad where Team
Chizzled was met with enthusiasm and an apparent need for an active
lifestyle apparel line that defines dedication and allows expression
thru hard work and determination.
Shawn
and Ambrose are dedicated to Chizzled Wear and to their customers.
A great name for a great product. It could not have happened without
the help of many, many individuals. Thanks go out to Christina and
Leslie, the better halves' who without their love and support none
of this would have happened. Johnny Rhoer for his friendship, loyalty
and showing Shawn the ropes to body building. Chuck Palumbo of CP
Kustoms (www.cpkustoms.com)
and professional wrestling fame for his encouragement and providing
Chizzled Wear a fantastic opportunity. Thanks go out to all of the
WWE & TNA Guys for their incredible support and pushing Shawn
to capitalize on his vision. Randy Smith who has done more than
asked of him and continues to with only a promise. Darrin in Burlington,
Iowa for his fine craftsmanship, attention to detail and strong
belief and commitment. To their children, thanks for the drive to
pursue this... it is for you that they sweat. Thanks to Shawn and
Ambrose's folks for teaching them the value of hard work and the
ability to treat the day with fairness and objectivity. A very special
thank you goes out to Shawn's mother, Ambrose's aunt... Dolores
Beach, who always sees the good and isn't afraid to say the right
thing at the right time.
Thanks
for all of your support and believing in the dream.
